Gypsum Recycling International is the mother company of the internationally operating Gypsum Recycling Group. Gypsum Recycling International via its subsidiaries is the first company worldwide to have implemented a complete and commercially based system for recycling of all kinds of plasterboard and gypsum wallboard waste, that turns the waste into a raw material for production of new plasterboards.

The system was introduced in Denmark in 2001, and has since been expanded to cover new countries very quickly. Today Gypsum Recycling International is active in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Holland and USA.

Gypsum Recycling Internationals system provides benefits to all parties involved, and accordingly the basis of the system is common business sense rather than bans or regulations regarding landfilling of plasterboard waste.

The recycling technology

The patented and proprietary recycling technology from Gypsum Recycling International does not only handle plasterboard waste from new constructions and production scrap from the original manufacture of the virgin gypsum products, but more importantly our technology is designed and constructed to successfully deal with all kinds of “old” waste from demolition and reconstruction activities.

At such sites nails, screws and other impurities are often found in the gypsum waste, and the plasterboards are covered with various kinds of wall coverings. With the special technology embedded in our system, such waste is no more difficult for us to handle and process than new construction waste.

On top of this, our unique recycling technology is made mobile, in order to move the recycling unit around from processing facility to processing facility. This way the waste does not have to be transported so far, and the whole system becomes very competitive with landfilling.

The Gypsum Recycling System

Our system handles the entire process from the creation of the waste at site over collection to the delivery of recycled materials to the plasterboard and gypsum wallboard manufactures, and therefore encompasses not only a recycling unit, but all the necessary components to assure a well performing recycling system:

Our origin is the largest demolition company in Scandinavia with more than 20 years experience in handling demolition waste and in recycling C&D materials. More than 1 million tonsare processed and recycled yearly. Drawing upon our waste experience in demolition and waste recycling we developed the unique gypsum recycling system after more than 5 years intensive efforts and multi million Euro investments.
