The logistic system
Gypsum Recycling International has developed and operates a unique logistics system that minimizes the transport and handling costs:
- Containers are located at new building sites, reconstruction and demolition sites, at waste transfer stations, civic amenities and other locations where waste is stored temporarily or sorted
- The specialized collection trucks remove the waste rather than removing the container. Removal of waste occurs with the help of a crane and a grabble; an integral part of the truck. Hereby the truck can collect waste from several collection points before returning to the processing facility, which minimizes transportation cost.
- The recycling units are mobile and can easily be moved from one processing facility to another, allowing an optimal location of the processing facilities - thus minimizing the distance the waste has to be transported and thereby reduce the transportation costs to a minimum.
- Dismantling/setting-up of the unit is done in a few hours, so one recycling unit can easily service more processing facilities. The processing facilities/warehouses are located close to a plasterboard plant to reduce cost of transporting the produced gypsum powder
