Gypsum waste recycling

Gypsum waste recycling is a relatively new activity which has so far only been established in a limited number of countries. However, the pressure from authorities to increase gypsum waste recycling efforts combined with the challenge of limiting the creation of greenhouse gases have made gypsum waste recycling a rapidly growing business. Take a look at our unique gypsum waste recycling system

Gypsum waste recycling creates value

Gypsum Recycling International offers a win-win business model which means that the industry will benefit both from getting rid of gypsum waste and from buying back the recycled gypsum powder at a price well below that of virgin gypsum raw materials. Gypsum Recycling International will take care of all aspects of establishing the gypsum waste recycling system. The only thing the industry will do, is to use the recycled gypsum powder. The industry will not need to make any investments to become involved. This gypsum waste recycling system is now being made available to the rest of the world.

Gypsum waste

Everywhere in Europe the pressure to decrease disposal of especially gypsum waste at landfills and increase recycling activities is becoming more evident. Although recycling activities covering construction and demolition waste have grown significantly in the past decade all over Europe, around 20-25% of the waste ending up at European landfills is still coming from construction and demolition (C&D) activities. Gypsum waste is one of the most important fractions from C&D, if not the most important fraction, that has not been recycled until now. It has been calculated that gypsum waste makes up 3-6% of all waste at European landfills and adds up to a total of approximately 3 million tons annually. Now there is an alternative to landfilling gypsum waste. Gypsum Recycling International has successfully implemented a gypsum waste recycling system in Denmark, Scandinavia, Europe and the US. The system converts new construction and demolition gypsum waste into gypsum powder that the gypsum industry can use as a substitute for new virgin materials. The system is economical and profitable for the gypsum industry as well as beneficial for the environment.
