The system was based on practical knowledge of how modern recycling systems work in order to be successful, rather than on old-fashioned thinking on how recycling can be forced through via laws or regulations. Thus, the Scandinavian System was and is based on creating win-win situations for the plasterboard industry, the recycling company and the end users of plasterboards.
