Plasterboard landfill

Gypsum Recycling International offers an environmentally viable alternative to disposal of plasterboard waste at landfills. Our plasterboard waste recycling has so far been established on three continents: Europe, North America, and Asia. Due to our win-win business model and our ability to produce a recycled plasterboard powder which is 99% as good as virgin gypsum raw materials, the growth of plasterboard recycling has been increasing rapidly at the expense of sending plasterboard waste to landfill. Alternative to disposal of plasterboard waste at landfills

We call it the win-win business model because the industry benefits twice from plasterboard recycling: firstly through an alternative to disposal of plasterboard waste at landfills and in the process helping the environment and gaining an improved environmental image. And secondly by using the recycled plasterboard powder which is 99% as good as virgin gypsum raw materials and sold at a price well below that. Further more, the industry does not have to make any investments to become involved as Gypsum Recycling International will take care of all aspects of establishing the plasterboard waste recycling system.

Plasterboard waste removal service through recycling

Why should we continue to landfill plasterboard waste, when it can be recycled into a gypsum powder that can be used for the production of new virgin plasterboards ?. That is what the successful plasterboard recycling system from Gypsum Recycling International is about.

Decrease disposal of plasterboard at landfills

Everywhere in the world the pressure to decrease disposal of waste at landfills and increase recycling activities is becoming more evident. Although recycling activities covering construction and demolition waste have grown significantly in the past decade, plasterboard waste was until recently in virtually all countries one of the most important fractions from C&D, if not the most important fraction, that was not recycled. As a consequence approximately 15 million tons of plasterboard waste was landfilled last year around the globe.
