Recycling of drywall

Recycling of drywall is quickly becoming a priority for the drywall industry as focus on climate changes and recycling increases. Not only is landfilling of drywall waste becoming more expensive, but in many places the authorities are also implementing regulations to avoid such landfilling. Take a look at our unique drywall recycling system Gypsum Recycling International has developed a system for recycling of drywall that is complete with a mobile recycling facility, specially developed containers, an economical logistics system and users that really benefit from the recycled materials.

The system for recycling of drywall

Gypsum Recycling International has designed and implemented an on-site containerised collection system in several countries to assure low cost separation and collection of the drywall waste. The collection system also assures that the waste owners are offered easy handling of the waste. The containers protect the drywall waste from rain and have the following additional features:

  • Allow easy filling and easy removal of the drywall waste and gypsum materials
  • Equipped with lids
  • Operated from the front or from above
  • Sold or leased to the waste owners
When the drywall waste has been collected it is transported to a warehouse that has been set up near the drywall plant that will reuse the recycled drywall. In the warehouse we locate one of our mobile recycling units that are developed to accept any kind of drywall waste even if it is not clean or pure in its form.
