The system developed to reuse plasterboard
Different from traditional thinking, the founder of Gypsum Recycling International, Karsten Rasmussen, did not only focus on making a recycling unit specifically designed to reuse plasterboard. He also developed all parts of the recycling system to optimise the flow from the waste was created until it was reused by a plasterboard manufacturer. The reason for this was the insight, that in recycling the cost of reprocessing the waste is far smaller than the cost of collecting and transporting the waste. Therefore, to be successful in recycling, it is necessary to find ways to reduce the collection and transportation cost. This is the reason why the Scandinavian solution not only contains a unique and proprietary recycling technology, but also specially developed containers that together with an economical logistic system assure that the waste collection and transportation cost is kept at a minimum.
